Tony Trabert
Public Relations Consultant

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Tony Trabert is a former star tennis player and longtime tennis author, TV commentator, instructor, and motivational speaker. The youngest of three boys, he was brought up with strong integrity and work ethics. These values followed him onto the tennis court, from his hometown public park courts to the tournament courts around the world. An all-around athlete and unwavering competitor, he excelled on every surface.

Tony was a 1951 Intercollegiate singles champion while attending the University of Cincinnati. In 1955, he won the men's singles championships in France, Wimbledon and the U.S., capturing 35 titles with a single match record of 104-5 that included a streak of 10 consecutive tournament titles. In his playing career, Tony won an additional thirteen U.S. titles and was ranked in the U.S. and World Top 10 four times (1951, 1953, 1954, 1955), reaching the world's No. 1 spot in both 1953 and 1955. A member of the victorious 1954 U.S. Davis Cup team, he also captained the USA to two victories in 1978 and 1979. His 14-3 Davis Cup record is the second best by a U.S. team captain.

Tony proudly represents the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island as its President since 2001. He is not only the President of the Hall of Fame but also a member since his induction in 1970.

After he retired from competitive tennis in 1963 he joined Burlington Industries as a regional sales manager. In 1971 he began a 30-year career as a tennis and golf analyst for CBS, covering such events as the U.S. Open. He also served as a sportscaster for an Australian TV network for 21 years.
